I grew up poor, but I never knew I was.    But I think most people were too at the time.  We had everything we needed but not what we wanted.  
It was funny one day when my chums and I were talking we all grew up the same.  I knew when I was a kid or adolescent I knew I never wanted to be poor.   I have achieved my goal.   I went to school and  got an education and I know have everything of what I need and most of what I want.

 But I don't have that damn Mercedes
