Sunday

After sleeping on yesterdays problems we have decided we are not going to paint the cabinets.  We just don't have the time.  We will clean up the ones we have.    The truth of the matter is that the whole kitchen needs redone and why waste our time.     Went to Lowes and to get a new countertop (plain Formica type)   it would cost $800.  And to have them install it would be $1,000.   That is really too much.

We did put up the mini blinds and it looks great.   The workshop can still be made back into a garage and I am not putting in A/C.   Someone else can do it.   The stuff we are going to do this week is mostly cosmetic, not structual.  And that is the name of that tune....................

Saturday

Good grief!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Just when you thought it was safe to go in the water., something comes and bites you in the arse.....

Met with the realtor (Margaret) , who brought her mentor  (Laura) .................   Well we have lots more to do.   Laura, the mentor realtor, had many suggestions.   She thought the kitchen cabinets looked "dated"   So, now, we are going to paint them white.  But first I have to clean them with TSP and prime them.................... Then to order a new counter top.   Its not going to be granite that  is for certain.

The gameroom on the lowest level needs to have a carpet.   I have already priced a outdoor carpet, it will cost about $100.   You can cut it with a utility knife.  I may be  including sliting my wrists with that same knife by the end of this week.    The old gold stove (who know why) that the parents had in the laundry area is now a goner.   I bet someone takes during the cover of darkness tonight............. She didn't like the fact that Tom turned the garage into a workshop.    People want garages.   They can turn it back into a garage.     Another drawback is that it has no A/C.   Buyers want the Taj Mahal at reduced prices.

He had an old runner (dirty brown)  down the steps, that is also a goner.   The floor looks good, but the riser part of the stairs needs major work.   Don't know what I will do about that.     The old (30+ years)  draperies in s few of the rooms, are to be pitched.   I have already purchased mini blinds.   Laura said that the people who will be looking at this will be in the younger age group, so the drapes are outdated too.

Also want to keep it under 100K.   There is a magic cutoff and we will lose a lot of potential buyers if it goes over that .  Even if for a few K.  And to top it off, we should get it done in one weeks time.   (BANGS HEAD ON TABLE) AND CRIES.

On the bright side.   The new bath looks great.   The newly painted walls and waxed hardwood floor are very attractive.  And the windows are very shiny.   Also a big plus is that there is lots of storage.  Every nook and cranny has been utilized into some type of storage.......Should I start the St Jude Novena now or later, oops I don't have nine days..........................

Wednesday

Well. just got connected wireless.    My daughter drives me crazy .   She is mad because she was asked to do this, like she has a whole hell of a lot of things to do otherwise........

Found out that each and every computer has to be configured to do wireless.  Chuck will have to insert the card and call up to get his done.   There is just too many steps for me to remember and into the bowels of the computer for me to remember.

Tuesday

Not a whole lot going on today. I think I like the bold type better.   I am off this week and getting a lot of stuff done that I havn't been able to for the past year or so.  I  will be listing the house soon, I hope it sells and that will be the end of the estate.     I don't feel bad about selling the house where I grew up, but I do feel bad about not feeling bad.  If that makes any sense at all.  I think someone will get a good house rasonably priced.

Stitches out tomorrow and back to cleaning........

Monday

Today was an interesting day.  First I had a few lesions removed......Nothing serious but itchy and two on my nose were irritated by my glasses.

I am now conected to DSL.   Thru our local phone company.   It honestly took Chuck about 2 1/2 hours to do this.  Why is nothing as simple as loading a disc????  It just wouldn't work and he spent hours talking to tech support and finally when he got to the upper level of tech support they found out it was a problem on their end.  Now what I have to do is figure out how to work this wireless router.     It looks so simple on TV.  The dsl is really neat, it is so  fast.

I am off this week.    I guess I have mostly cleaning and all sorts of other things to do... a lot involving 2327.   The Salvation Srmy is coming on On Thursday.   They gave me a window of 8 to 3.   That really narrows it down.

On Saturday the realtor is coming to list the house.  I hope it goes this spring   Then I can close this estate.....and will I be glad.

Thursday

A local hospital instituted a dress code.   People with unusual hairdo or what ever upset the patients and their families.    Can a nurse have the same option.    If you have a Mohawk or Dreadlocks can we refuse to threat you because you offend or frighten me????     If your perfume or body odor is upseting can I ask for a new patient?????    If I find your multiple body piercings or tatoo offensive can i assign you to someone else???   It seems the patients have this option but the health care personnel do not.    Sounds like reverse discrimination to me.    How about if you have a purple Mohawk??????

Next Saurday I meet with the realtor to sell the house....I WILLBE GLAD TO BE OFF THE HAMSTER WHEEL WITH THE ACTIVITIES OF THIS PAST YEAR.......

Sunday

I am researching dsl this morning.  DSL with AOL costa $9.59 plus the cost of what ever the cable or phone line is.   It is funny that the cable (Adelphia)  has information on line, including the aol.  But Altell (Mickey Mouse Phone CO)  does not.   Their cost is so much higher than verizon and everywhere you call is an additional charge.   To have service into the Pgh area it costs, almost $60 dollars.   I wish we had a choice of phone companies.  Although across the road about 1/4 mile away the service is Verizon.

This is very annoying to me.    I should ask Chuck what wireless his brother has and drop the extended service.

Wednesday

The middle of the week and I had off today.  My sisters and I went to 2327 and cleaned and waxed those two floors.   We also cleaned the dining room floor.   We will wax the downstairs when it is time to put it on the market.  We also cleaned going down the cellar steps and broom swept the laundry and basement.  Got rid of the cobwebs.   Shawnna voluntered to drive the van so we could take the beds to St Vincents.   We will wait for a non rainy day.

The major thing left is to repair the roof and caulk the bathtub.   I think everyone is procrastinating on that one.   The trash guys took the cement with the poles in it.  Getting rid of the railroad ties is going to be a pain.   They are considered a hazardous waste and they wont take them for a clean fill.   My thought is just to leave them behind the shed.

Back to work tomorrow.   I read an article where they are considering leaving you collect and partial pension and still work some.  At this point and time I think that I could do that.....But who knows how I will feel in 3 years, 6 months and 19 days...............

Sunday

I am being driven crazy.  I wish the two Toms had consistently used their middle initial.   Duquesne Light notified TWD that he can't have two accounts.   The account at 2327 TAD is getting mixed up.   I have sent an email to Duquesne Light and I know in my heart that this will really be screwed up.........................

Friday

Today is my class and I am just too tired to go.   This morning I went to 2327 and waited for the window washers to come.   They did a good job.   I took them about 45 minutes to clean inside and out.  Shawnna and I did the downstairs in the spring and it took us hours.    I cleaned Mom and Dad room floor.   I bought some shine stuff for floors and plan to spiff them up tomorrow.

The scrubber worked well, but not as good as I would have hoped.   The dark, ground in dirt on the dining room floor had to be scrubbed by hand.   Which was just what I was trying to avoid.  So I guess the plan of action will be to do the heavy spots by hand and scrub where needed.

And I do not intent to scrub the basement.  I may put the Old English stuff on the walls.    My brother is coming home this evening.   I have a few little jobs lined up for him tomorrow.   I will go and work some too.   I am really tired of this project..................

Tomorrow evening we are all going out to dinner.   I will pay for it with the money I made on the sale of the furniture and rug.
