Wednesday

Two days off after working like a dog.   It is a pet peeve of mine to be called for things that are not my job.  I guess it will never end.  Maybe it will when the hospital closes the OB department and we take call from home.  But I will be retired by then.

2327 still sits.   It is hard for people to believe that a house with 3-4 bedrooms. LR, DR. eat in kitchen and priced at $89,000 would languish on the market.    When I look at the prices in other area of the country it irks me a lot.  I buried St Joseph on Sunday.   We will see if it works.

Back to work tomorrow and oncall on Saurday.  I have a week of this month and I really look forward to time off....

Sunday

My friend told me about in dog heaven the canines spend all their time chasing squirrels.   And the reverse was that was also squirrel hell.

Today Chuck found his squirrel hell.  Today was the event of the summer.   Jimmy Buffet came to town.  The concert started at 6 pm.   Chuck works in the ER of the hospital nearest the stadium where this even is taking place.   The temperature was 94 degrees and the drinking started early.  They were tailgating.   They were falling in the river. They were dropping like flies,  intoxicated and dehydrated.   Had to come in and get their tanks filled up with saline.   Guess they missed the concert.

I had just told him this morning.   If it wasn't for human stupidity the health care workers might be unemployed..........LOL LOL LOL  Stupidity is job security for a lot of us...............

Just when you thought you have heard everything....

Just when you thought you have heard everything and couldn't be surprised..........................My daughter is working in a charatable thrift shop.    Well,.............last evening when she came home she told me what had happened..........

In the store there are public restrooms,  and fitting rooms for people to try on their clothing that they are interested in  purchasing..........After store hours were over, the woman who was tidying the store for the next day found that.......

SOMEONE HAD DEFECATED IN A TUPPERWARE CONTAINER AND WIPED WITH A PINK SILK BLOUSE AND LEFT IT IN THE FITTING ROOM.

There are some people in this world that are a complete waste of protoplasm and are not fit to be breathing air. And there are also some that should be taken out of the gene pool.    These same people always find each other (idiots and fools).  They must have some radar that attracts people of like kind.

I honestly wonder how some people in society make it thru life.  The observation extends to all social and economic levels.  I also think you should have to have a permit before you can conceive...........................

Thursday

Off call today, I tried to access and write here like a did a few weeks ago.   But it was blocked. I know I didn't write anything racy in this journal.   Today is a nice day weather wise.  But the dog days are coming in June instead of August.  I don't remember it being this hot when I was a kid.   I remember hot days but not for long stretches at a time.   Chuck says its me.........

Got a call from the daughter to bring plastic bags.   Guess I will be trreveling to the thrift store.....I seriously doubt that I will find something I NEED.....

Sunday

Today is fathers day.    My father has been deceased for two fathers day now.    I have taken care of everything on the estate except for the sale of the house..   I don't know what the problem is.   I think it is the market here.   This is probably one of the least expensive markets in the country.

Chuck got a good fathers day gift.   I got up this morning and the water heater is leaking/   Not a gusher Bessie, but it is on the way out.    We got that one  circa 1979.   I remember that because he had a broken leg and had to install it and was wearing a cast.   I told him that the installation  should be easier now.  He had to agree.   We were to go to my nieces HS graduation party.   Emily and I will go but not him.....

He will get it in my mini SUV.  We have done a lot of hauling in it.   It is Subaru Forester.  I really love that car.  It is not a large car, but you can haul a Sears treadmill in it.....

Oh he's home now........Guess planning the replacement caper...

Saturday

Sometimes you need to go by way of China to get to things.   I am finishing off my stint at work and am waiting for my relief.  I wanted to write in here but didn't have my computer.  So, it took  me five minutes going through the minutia to figure out how to get here.  I was able to do this because of the link onto my saved mail.   It is difficult to get here because AOL is not loaded on the computer.  I tried to load it one but it wouldn't let me.

Also, you sometimes can not access site because of the filter.   It may have one work that is objectionable and you can't go.

Today I have to go to a compliance meeting.   It is mandatory and will take all morning.   The only good thing is that I get paid and also get a free breakfast....   I am the designated driver.  I know how to get to the mother ship, just finding the cafeteria will be a quest.

Tuesday

Why do days off go faster than days worked???  If I could find the secret and bottle it and sell it I could make millions...

Got a statue of St. Joseph.  Have to bury him this week.    This time the sales clerk gave me the prayer to go with him.    There were a lot of St Josephs sitting on the shelf.......We will see now.   This was a different store than the last time.

Three days to go.   And then on Saturday I have to go and listen to manditory compliance meeting Saturday morning.   At least I get paid.   If I watched the video I wouldn't get paid for that.   It will be boring but I will be getting paid for my boredom.

Monday

Back to the computer, I am off today and am I glad.   Took a "clean up you computer" class on Saturday.   That really went well.  I also have one in two weeks on computer security.   The teacher was a very knowledgable African American lady..  She told us we could email her with our computer problems till she died.   So, I guess I have a reference forever.

Two more people looked at the house, I guess they roasted their butts off this past week.  I am going to bury St Joseph.  When we lived in NJ and need to sell the house I did that.   The house was on the market from about March.   And I buried him in August and in about two weeks we had an offer.   It was funny because when I went to buy him the Catholic Store lady said  "I guess you are selling a house."  My friend has suggested that but I have gotten desperate enough yet.  But, I am getting to that point.

Selling the house without an a/c may be a problem.....It is funny that 6 kids grew up in that house with 3 bedrooms, now everyone has to have a bedroom for each kid.   The biggest problem was  that I had to share my bedroom with my grandmother when she became too ill to stay by herself.   That  September, a few months later, I went off to school and grandma had the bedroom to herself.   She snored really loud.   Also stopped breathing for a few seconds in a row.   I know know that is called sleep apnea. She died the following spring.  Now everyone wants the finest of ammenities.. waa waa waa.  All for  50 K too.

Emily and I went to a vegetarian breakfast buffet yesterday.  It was on the South Side of Pgh.  The South Side is an interesting place.  It would be neat to by a house and live there.  Of course, you would have to leave your car parked and take the bus.  If you lived in the city.

The restaurant had sort of a vegitarian bonanza.  They used a lot of beans, and raisins.   And not a whole lot of pasta. The main focus was on was on beans and lentils.  There were about 10 selections of pre meal entrees.   Then you picked out your main dish.  From eggs to pancakes, etc.  And then there was a dessert selection.  I felt like I was a time traveler from 1969.   A lot of "hippies"  were there.  I don't know what they are called today.  LOTS a piercings and a few with tatoos.   And one guy who smelled like he never had owned a washcloth or soap.   Maybe he felt he should be a natural man.  But I have smelled better farm animals.  I would go back but would go earier.  There was no a/c, but at 12 noon it wasn't yet a problem.

I would also like to have a few of the recipes......

When I take the compter security class I may be able to get rid of that "Weather Bug"

Friday

Why if Norton finds a problem, is it next to impossible to fix it.  There are buttons, when you click on it, nothing happens.

There is this damnable Weather Bug and I can't get rid of it.   I know it is there and when you do a scan it finds it but when you look for the file, the computer denies all knowledge of it.....

Up at 5 am.  Even with the a/c it is too hot.   I like to sleep with the room about 10 degrees cooler than what the a/c is set on it.   The whole problem is the orientation of the house.   It faces due west.  When we bought  the place it was a cloudy day and I neglected to bring a compass.   The sun shines in from 3 till sundown.   Even though I have blinds on the windows and special glass in the windows it still gets hot.

What I need is a few large trees in the front.  (I will be dead by the time they grow.   Or also awnings will help...Chuck doesn't like the look of awnings.     If you go first I am getting the awnings  Chuck.     LOL LOL LOL

Also on the would be nice is a screened in porch on the back.  I got a two person swing from my dad.   It is very nice.   The seat got soaked.    When I sat on it is squished.   Had to go and get a cover for it.   It was half off its reduced price.   Guess you pay full price in February.    I fully expect to find winter clothers next week.

When I am in the mood for buying clothes they are sold out or picked over.   By this time all that are left are miniscule or gigunda sizes.    Actually, I just got finished ironing my summer clothes,  I think I could live in Washington state or Maine.   Where the summers are cool.   I think WA would be better because the winters are mild too.   Just have to worry about volcanos and earthquakes.   On second thought the snow and hazy, hot and humid are looking better and better.

Tuesday

A second day of five in a row.   The first two have not been too bad, so far.    Spent the day in OB.   Everyone thinks they are at Burger King and they can "have it your way"   Sometime I just get tired.   I am thinking more and more of retirement and how far away it is............I am just physically and mentally exhausted.   And this is most of the time.   At this point in my life I am ready to start taking it easy........

Sunday

This is the second time I have started this.   I somehow, lost the area I was workin on.   Went to Lidias with the Red Hat Ladies.   Took Emily, she is eligible to come as a Pink Hat Lady.

The brunch was very nice and the food was good.   Next months outing is to Falling Water and Kentucky Knob.  With lunch inbetween.   Both of these are designed by Frank Lloy Wright.

Welcome to Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater

Welcome to Kentuck Knob -- A Frank Lloyd Wright Creation

Aha a success at cutting and pasting, but, where did the lavender go?  Guess I will go with dark blue.

Today has been a wonderful summer day.   It is unusualy hot for the beginning of June.   I also found out that I can breathe much better with the A/C on.  Although my asthma bothers me when I go upstairs or hills, it also bothers me when it is hot and humid.

Not really much else new going on.  Emily is starting her College Algebra 1 tomorrow...

Thursday

This color combination looks like the 4th of July, or any other Star spangles holiday.  Today was a busy, but noneventful day.  I like when nothing upsets my apple cart.

I need a mouse pad.  Maybe I will find a picture I like and have one made.  But most of the photos now are on my computer.

Today my friend asked me for infomation about cats.   One came to her house.   Is it friendly?????  YES  Will it let you pet it???  YES.   Did you feed it????  YES  ,   well it's yours now.........She is taking to get it fixed.  After a person spends $150 on a cat, you can bet she will keep it now.  She checked the vets and for flyers at the grocery store, but no one was advertising for this calico cat.......Having been a dog person all her life she was surprised how friendly the cat is.   Thats because she feeds it but I didn't tell her that.
